Product Description
Romantic Rumba material gives The Lady In Red its title, but the wider programme covers all five International Latin dance categories. The opening Samba section includes Celia Cruz, Martinho Da Vila and Paulina Rubio, while Cha Cha draws on voices as different as Dean Martin, Della Reese and Oscar De Leon. These sections offer alternatives in musical character as well as a clearly organised practice selection.
On Part 2, the title song is joined by recordings credited to Luis Miguel, Laura Fygi and Gotan Project. A single Paso Doble separates the twelve Rumbas from the closing Jive sequence, where Shakin Stevens, Showaddywaddy and Cherry Poppin Daddies appear. The album is worth considering when the aim is to build a Latin playlist around recognisable songs and varied singers, rather than a single orchestra or one dance alone.
