A substantial orchestral strand runs through Shingaling Shingaling. Edmundo Ros appears in both Samba and Cha Cha Cha, alongside Tito Puente’s El Gayuco and Cuban Pete and the title selection credited to Kako & His Orchestra. Popular vocal material adds another dimension: John Paul Young and Matt Bianco feature in Samba, while Della Reece and Caterine Valente are credited in Cha Cha Cha.

The Rumba programme gives more space to extended songs, including Tina Arena’s Chains and Toni Braxton’s Unbreak My Heart. Two Paso Dobles credited to BBM follow before the Jive section turns to Radio, I Love To Boogie and other rock-and-roll choices. With eleven Sambas, eleven Cha Chas and eleven Rumbas, the collection provides multiple selections for the dances that occupy most of its programme, while retaining dedicated Paso Doble and Jive material.
