The Best Of Ballroom Music – Part 6

Product Description

Manuel & The Mountain Men contribute three of the five opening Waltzes on The Best of Ballroom Music – Part 6, including the theme from Papillon and Sunrise Sunset. Bobby Goldsboro’s Today and This Nearly Was Mine by Victor Silvester & Silver Strings complete a section that combines a named vocalist with several orchestral choices.

Geoff Love and Victor Silvester recur later in the programme, linking its Tango and Viennese Waltz sections through familiar orchestra credits. Falling in Love with Love, Out of My Dreams and Lover form the Viennese Waltz group. Dancers who prefer to choose accompaniment by orchestra as well as by song title can follow these performers across different Standard dances.

Two Billy May Orchestra recordings surround Getting to Know You in the Slow Foxtrot section. Mountain Greenery by Joe Loss and Dancin Fool by Ton & Co. featuring Gary Wilmot then provide the two Quickstep choices. The album’s sixteen selections cover all five Standard dances without making each section equally large. That compact shape suits a teacher assembling a focused lesson playlist or a couple exploring alternatives to their regular practice music. Dance groupings and original tempo values accompany the full programme.
