DJ Maksy – Jamais Vu 2

Jamais Vu 2 continues DJ Maksy’s approach to ballroom music, giving familiar songs and film themes a different musical setting through arrangements tailored to International Standard dancing.

The album moves freely between contemporary pop, electronic music, cinematic soundtracks, and orchestral interpretations. Songs such as “What Was I Made For,” “Blinding Lights,” and “Never Gonna Give You Up” appear alongside music associated with Twin Peaks, Blade Runner, Stranger Things, and James Bond: Spectre. These contrasting selections bring a mix of familiar melodies and less conventional choices to the ballroom floor.

One of the album’s interesting features is its use of different dance arrangements for the same song. “What Was I Made For” appears as both a Slow Waltz and a Viennese Waltz, while “Make You Feel My Love” is also presented in two versions, each suited to a different dance.

Vocal collaborations with Anna Darling, Nataly Blake, and Elena Vale add variety alongside DJ Maksy’s instrumental recordings. The collection covers all five Standard dances, with tempos ranging from 28–29 BPM for Slow Waltz and Slow Foxtrot to 50 BPM for Quickstep and 59 BPM for Viennese Waltz.

With 42 tracks spanning several musical styles, Jamais Vu 2 offers ballroom dancers, teachers, and studios a broad selection of contemporary and familiar music arranged for Standard dancing.
