Dance Mastery Technique – Intermediate Building Blocks is an American Style Smooth instructional program featuring Jim & Jenell Maranto, designed to help Intermediate dancers strengthen the fundamental skills required for more advanced Ballroom dancing.
As part of the Dance Mastery Technique series, this approximately 100-minute program builds upon essential concepts and develops them at an Intermediate level. Jim and Jenell begin with how to stand individually and how to stand with a partner, establishing the posture, positioning, and partnership awareness needed for coordinated movement.
The program then explores how to move, swing, and turn, focusing on important movement principles that can be applied throughout American Smooth. A section devoted to common mistakes helps dancers recognize and correct problems that may limit balance, movement quality, or partnership.
Timing & Musicality examines the relationship between movement and music, while the final section, A Few Words About Tango, addresses considerations specific to Tango within the American Smooth family.
Rather than focusing on a long list of choreography, Intermediate Building Blocks concentrates on the core technical elements dancers can use to build stronger, more controlled, and more musical American Smooth dancing.
