Tony Evans – Let’s Jive

Let’s Jive by Tony Evans and His Orchestra is a 20-track dance music collection centered on Jive, with the opening section also featuring several slower Jive arrangements. The album brings together familiar melodies and orchestral dance arrangements in a format suitable for Jive practice, ballroom and Latin lessons, social dancing, and studio use.

The first six tracks are identified as Jive Slow, beginning with Mame and continuing through Just a Gigolo, Isn’t She Lovely, Got to Get You Into My Life, Green Gate Rag, and Maple Leaf Rag. This opening group provides a more measured introduction before the album moves into its regular Jive selections.

From When the Saints Go Marching In onward, the program offers a varied set of recognizable titles arranged for Jive.
