The Ultimate Latin Album 3 moves from Latin vocal repertoire to a closing Jive selection with a distinctly rock-and-roll flavour. Dance With Me opens the Cha Cha programme, while Tito Rodriguez’s Watusi Boogaloo brings another musical character to the same dance. The Samba section includes Marcela Morelo, Azucar Moreno and Los Manolos, as well as Boney M’s Brown Girl In The Ring.
Disc 2 shifts the emphasis to Rumba before finishing with six Jives. Juan Gabriel and Gisselle have several entries in the Rumba programme, giving dancers alternatives within one dance category rather than a single representative song. The Tractors, Cagey Strings, Manhattan Transfer and Dion then provide contrasting choices for Jive. For lesson planning or personal practice, the four clearly separated dance sections make it straightforward to choose repertoire without searching through an unclassified playlist.
