Swing Caboodle

Product Description

Swing Caboodle is Dancelife’s 2005 West Coast Swing music compilation, with 24 vocal and instrumental selections. The programme draws on rhythm and blues, rockabilly, pop and swing, bringing together several performers within a dedicated West Coast Swing collection.

Groove Doctors open with Drive Me Home, Baby, followed by Big Joe Maher’s Gangster of Love and Sweet Home Chicago. Other credits include Donny & Susan Trexler, Tanzorchester Klaus Hallen feat. Rio, Bobby Gilmore & Connie Athridge, Aquablue and Dancelife Studio Orchestra. Instrumental choices such as Green Onions provide a different presentation among the English-language vocal recordings.

The supplied West Coast Swing tempo values range from 25 to 52. The running order begins with lower values and moves towards higher values later, although it is not a strictly ascending sequence. That breadth is useful to recognise when selecting a recording for a specific session: the album does not present every song at one uniform tempo.

The final group includes Swinger Girl, Jump, Jive and Wail, Surely, I Love You, Back in Business and Go Cat Go! Each remains labelled for West Coast Swing in this edition, regardless of words such as jive in a song title. The full list preserves performer credits, language, style, individual durations and the original 24-track order.
