Strictly Swing And Jive

Product Description

Strictly Swing and Jive presents 14 recordings from the Strictly Ballroom Series, performed by The New 101 Strings Orchestra. Its repertoire includes swing standards, familiar band titles and songs associated with Jive, beginning with Zoot Suit Riot and In the Mood. The album is a music recording: its value lies in the repertoire and performance programme rather than step-by-step dance instruction.

The running order moves through All of Me and Tuxedo Junction into the paired song title Just a Gigolo / I Ain't Got Nobody. Begin the Beguine is identified as coming from Jubilee, followed by Don't Get Around Much Anymore and Why Was I Born. The second half includes Choo Choo Ch'Boogie, Pennsylvania 6-5000 and Chattanooga Choo Choo before More Than You Know, Take the 'A' Train and the closing Jump Jive an' Wail.

This combination gives listeners and dancers a concise way to explore swing and Jive repertoire in one programme. The complete list preserves all 14 selections, the combined title and the musical reference, with each supplied timing shown for practical selection. Shorter numbers sit alongside the longer More Than You Know and Jump Jive an' Wail, so the list can help when choosing a piece for a listening session or dance practice. No competition tempo, difficulty level or technical dance syllabus is claimed. The digital product is supplied as MP3 music.
