Product Description
Solo work allows a dancer to give attention to their own posture, balance and arms. Toni Redpath organises this programme around those three areas, using swing, rotation and sway within each exercise group. Sequence demonstrations and demonstrations to music accompany the work, connecting the separate actions with a dance sequence.
An introduction and technique review establish the programme, and A Few Words About Tango appears between the balance and arm-styling groups. The final sections combine all the exercises and present a combination routine. This approximately 76-minute recording is listed for absolute beginners in American Smooth and gives students a clearly documented structure for individual exercise study.
Swing, rotation and sway recur within the posture-strengthening, balance and arm-styling groups, allowing the exercise structure to be understood before the actions are combined. The sequence demonstrations and demonstrations to music have their own places in the programme; they connect a group of exercises with a performed sequence. The final combination routine follows the section that combines all the exercises, keeping the closing work distinct from the earlier individual subjects. This is solo exercise material for American Smooth, so its value lies in the dancer’s own movement study. The Tango discussion is a separately named topic within that larger exercise programme, rather than a complete Tango syllabus.
