Gold Star Ballroom – Samba

Bailamos and Macarena sit alongside One Note de Samba and Cuban Pete in Gold Star Ballroom – Samba. All eighteen recordings are credited to the Gold Star Ballroom Orchestra, and the collection stays within Samba rather than alternating between Latin dance categories. The vocal and instrumental selection therefore suits a session in which dancers want to change songs while continuing to practise the same dance.

The repertoire also includes Nights on Broadway, Mercedes Benz and That's the Way It Is, with We Are Growing closing the programme. Recording lengths range from the two-minute Jingo to That's the Way It Is at 3:59. Those timings give teachers a practical choice between shorter exercises and longer stretches of partner rehearsal. Each track appears in its original album position below, with performer and duration information; composer credits are included where supplied for Cuban Pete and We Are Growing.
