Product Description
A Dance For Christmas is Joe Bourne’s 1992 collection of seasonal dance music. Its fifteen entries range across jive, social foxtrot, slow waltz, tango, Viennese waltz, slowfox, samba and cha cha. English- and German-language selections provide a varied vocal programme for a Christmas-themed social-dance playlist.
The opening jive is a single medley combining Jingle Bell Rock, Winter Wonderland, Let It Snow and Jingle Bells. Later familiar titles include What Child Is This, I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus, The Christmas Song, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman. German titles such as Es Weihnachtet Sehr, Weisse Weihnacht and Jedes Jahr Um Diese Zeit are retained as part of the original selection.
The album’s dance labels distinguish the arrangements rather than relying on the song titles alone. It includes social foxtrot selections with different listed tempo values, two Viennese waltzes and several jive choices. That variety can help a teacher or organiser choose a festive recording for the rhythm required by a particular part of a session.
The final Happy Birthday to You is separately identified as slow waltz and cha cha showmusic. It remains in its original closing position and is not described as another Christmas song. The full track list retains all fifteen programme entries, their credits, timings and supplied dance notation.
