Salsa, Mambo, Merengue Only

Salsa, Mambo, Merengue Only is a 2003 Dancelife music compilation devoted to these social Latin rhythms. Its 22-track programme moves through salsa and mambo selections before a closing merengue group. The credited performers include Dancelife Studio Orchestra, Masalsa, Grupo Ramirez, Walter Laird & Nico Gomez and Merengue All Stars.

The opening I Will Survive is followed by a short Salsa Rhythm Only recording. Other selections include Vecina, Salvaje Amor, Mambo Ni Hablar, Demasiado Corazon and Ran Kan Kan, alongside Hakuna Matata from Disney’s The Lion King. The programme combines English, Spanish and Portuguese vocals with instrumental recordings, making the artist and language columns useful when choosing a particular sound.

The merengue section includes its own short Rhythm Only version as well as fuller selections. These two rhythm-only entries remain separate tracks with their original playing times of 1:17 and 0:55. The final Takache, El Tiburon, Samba De Janeiro, Maria medley is one programme entry rather than four separately supplied tracks.

For dancers expanding a social Latin playlist, the album offers several recordings within each named rhythm and clearly distinguishes the shorter rhythm tracks from the longer vocal arrangements. The complete original sequence, dance labels, tempo values, performers and durations are retained below. This product supplies recorded dance music rather than a filmed course in salsa, mambo or merengue.
