Hey! Look Me Over by Tony Evans & His Orchestra is a diverse ballroom and sequence dance music collection featuring 16 tracks arranged for a broad selection of dance styles. The album combines classic ballroom favorites with Old Time and sequence rhythms, making it particularly useful for dancers, teachers, dance schools and social ballroom events.
The collection opens with two lively Quicksteps, “Almost Like Being Love” and “Zing Went the Strings of My Heart,” before moving into the graceful Waltz “Lovely Lady.” Traditional ballroom character continues with “When I Grow Too Old to Dream” as a Waltz and two Tango selections, “Tango Rosa” and “Sapphire Tango.”
The album also explores classic social and sequence dance styles. “Alexander’s Rag Time Band” and “Black & White Rag” provide energetic Ragtime Swing selections, while “Wonderful Guy” and “My Girl’s a Yorkshire Girl” are arranged as Old Time Waltzes. The title track “Hey! Look Me Over” appears as a Two Step 6/8.
The final section includes Mayfair Quicksteps “Bimbo,” “So What’s New,” and “Brasilia,” followed by the Saunter selections “Why Do I Love You” and “I’ll String Along with You.” This range gives the album a distinctive combination of ballroom, Old Time and sequence dance character.
