Product Description
English-language vocal recordings give The Best Of Slowfox Music a consistent focus, with Matt Monro, Bobby Darin, Nat 'King' Cole, Des O'Connor and other singers supplying the twenty-track programme. Evergreen repertoire sits alongside songs associated with Golden Boy, Papa's Delicate Condition and Strike Up The Band. This is a collection for listeners and dancers who want sung accompaniment rather than an exclusively orchestral Slow Foxtrot selection.
Bobby Darin and Des O'Connor recur throughout the album, while Alma Cogan contributes several soundtrack entries. Their different voices provide variety without changing the dance category. The supplied Slowfox tempo values are 28 or 29, and recording lengths range from Dean Martin's two-minute Mean To Me to Peggy Lee's I Love To Love at 3:07. Teachers can use those durations to plan an exercise or select a longer accompaniment for partner rehearsal. Credits and soundtrack references are retained beside each title in the complete list.
