Mbm Co – Ballroom Expansion 1

Product Description

Ballroom Expansion 1 by MBM Co is a 23-track Standard dance music compilation. Its supplied programme brings together recordings in a range of languages and groups them by dance, giving teachers and dancers an artist-and-title reference for choosing accompaniment. The catalogue identifies the music type as vocal and instrumental.

Five Slow Waltz selections open the album, with credits including Mireille Mathieu, Mika Nakashima and Angelika Milster. Four Tango entries follow, then five Viennese Waltz selections. The Slow Foxtrot group contains recordings credited to Vahtang Kikabidze, Annett Louisan, Inga Valinskiene and the Barry Sisters. Five Quicksteps complete the programme, ending with Jari Sillanpaa’s Oot Taydellinen.

The language notes are part of the album’s character. French, Croatian, Japanese, German, Finnish, Polish, Spanish, Georgian, Lithuanian and Russian are among the descriptions attached to individual tracks. The Barry Sisters entry is labelled Yiddish in the source. These annotations allow listeners to compare more than the dance rhythm when choosing a recording.

The original abbreviations SW, TG, VW, SF and QS remain attached to the tracks below and correspond to Slow Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Slow Foxtrot and Quickstep. The ordered list can support planning a practice session across several Standard rhythms. Individual tempos and durations are not supplied, so no uniform speed or total playing time is asserted.
