Lindy Hop – Charleston Vol. 1 introduces the foundations of Charleston while gradually expanding into Lindy Charleston variations.
The course begins with the classic Partner Charleston of the 1930s, making it suitable for dancers with no previous Charleston experience. As the lessons progress, Marcus Koch & Bärbl Kaufer introduce more advanced Lindy Charleston movements and combinations, showing how the dance evolved within Lindy Hop. While the Partner Charleston section is designed for beginners, a basic knowledge of Lindy Hop is recommended for the later Lindy Charleston material.
With more than 25 steps and variations, the program covers fundamental technique, leading, transitions, and progressively more dynamic Charleston movements. The course concludes with bonus jam sessions featuring Marcus & Bärbl together with other experienced swing dancers, providing examples of Charleston in a social dance setting.
