Jive Party Vol.6

Product Description

Sanford Clark’s Modern Romance opens Jive Party Vol. 6, followed by Billy Watkins’ Go Billy Go and Al Terry’s Watch Dog. Warren Smith’s Sweet Sweet Girl appears next, establishing several named choices before the programme moves into other singers and groups. There are 25 selections in the original running order.

Curley Coldiron’s Rockin Spot, Lloyd Fatman’s Miss Mushmouth and Glenn Reeves’ Rockin’ Country Style are among the volume’s distinctive entries. Bunny Paul contributes Such a Night, while Piano Red is credited with Rockin with Red. Customers interested in these performers can locate their selections within one compilation rather than assemble an artist list from separate releases.

The later part includes Jimmy Beasley’s Little Coquette and Alma Cogan’s This Little Girls Gone Rockin, with the Drifters closing the programme on Hot Ziggity. These artist contrasts make the collection worth browsing for both familiar names and less familiar repertoire. For a teacher or dancing partnership choosing Jive accompaniment, the full sequence provides options to audition and add to a practice playlist. The source describes vocal and instrumental music and dates this volume to 2014.
