Jive Party Vol.4

Product Description

Killer Diller by the Cues and Cooing to the Wrong Pigeon by Merrill E. Moore set out the opening repertoire of Jive Party Vol. 4. The programme then moves through the Fontaine Brothers and Ben Hewitt before Marty Robbins’ Long Tall Sally. Twenty-five selections give customers a substantial song choice within the collection’s Jive category.

Several familiar performers appear later in the running order. Clyde McPhatter contributes Deep Sea Ball, Joe Turner is credited with Love Roller Coaster and Neil Sedaka with Ring a Rockin’. Bill Haley’s Ida Sweet as Cider and Bobby Darin’s Pity Miss Kitty offer further choices for listeners who enjoy following named artists across a dance compilation.

The selection also includes Laurel London, Peanuts Wilson, the Rover Boys, Roy Milton and Billy Sproud. These additional credits distinguish the volume from a collection built solely around its best-known names. A dancer or teacher can browse for a favourite performer, then consider neighbouring selections for a practice playlist. Roy Hamilton’s I’m Gonna Lock Your Heart leads into the Platters’ Hula Hoop at the close. The catalogue dates the compilation to 2014 and describes vocal and instrumental music.
