Jive Party Vol.3

Product Description

Ruth Brown’s As Long as I’m Movin’ and Brook Benton’s You for Me give Jive Party Vol. 3 two distinct vocal choices within its 25-track programme. Clyde McPhatter opens the volume with Don’t Let Go, while Nappy Brown appears early with Love Rock. Customers following these singers can see how their selections sit within a wider collection of Jive repertoire.

The group recordings provide another point of interest. The Ames Brothers, Dell Vikings, Cues, Cadets and Clovers are represented at separate points in the sequence. Moon Mullican’s Rock & Roll Mr Bullfrog and Merrill E. Moore’s Boogie My Blues Away add further named choices, while Big Duke Henderson contributes Baby Beat It. The result is a performer-based selection with several routes into the programme, rather than a single-artist album.

For dancers or teachers choosing accompaniment, the variety of credits makes it possible to build a session around contrasting selections or return to a preferred artist. Guy Mitchell’s Loosen Up Lucy, Buzz Clifford’s Golly Gosh Oh Gee and Benny Joy’s Bundle of Love are among the titles available to explore. All 25 positions are listed below, from the opening McPhatter selection through the Four Mints’ Night Air.
