Dancehouse – Latin Music 9

Latin Music 9 is Dancehouse’s 2007 compilation of 23 dance-music recordings. The programme covers rumba, samba, cha cha and jive, with a later group offering contrasting lower tempo values. It does not include paso doble, so its Latin classification should not be read as a promise of all five Latin dances.

Four rumbas open the album, including performances by Fabio Peralta, Gisela, Vicente Bernál and Egidio. The following samba group features Amador, Maria Lorente, Bj Estacio, Raggadonna and Vince Martin. Cha cha selections include Clocks, Sway, Le Llave de Mi Corazon and El Cha Cha Cha del Celoso, before a four-track jive group.

The final six entries broaden the tempo choices: Hello, Dolly! and Apolo do Samba are sambas, El Fuego D’Amor is cha cha, Truly is rumba, and Love You I Do and School Days are jives. Their supplied tempo values differ from the preceding groups, which is useful to know when choosing a recording for a particular practice requirement.

The compilation mixes Spanish, English and Portuguese vocals with an instrumental soundtrack selection. All source titles, version annotations, performers, languages, available style information and durations remain in the original order. The style field left blank for She’s My Man is preserved without assigning an invented genre. Dancehouse is identified as the label, with the individual artists credited below.
