Ballroom Dancing Meets Popular Music – Jive

Product Description

Ballroom Dancing Meets Popular Music – Jive is a 2014 collection with 23 source-listed recordings. Most entries credit The Modern Ballroom Dance Band, while Long Tall Sally (From “Patrick Cummins”) is credited to Fitspo. This gives the album an explicitly identified guest recording within its jive-labelled repertoire.

Crocodile Rock opens the programme, followed by Reet Petite, Mickey and I’m So Excited. Tutti Frutti, Good Golly Miss Molly, Hit the Road Jack, Keep A-Knockin’ and Rockin’ Robin bring well-known rock-and-roll and related song titles into the selection. Chantilly Lace precedes the Fitspo recording.

The second part includes Hound Dog, Shout, Blue Suede Shoes, Don’t Stop Me Now and Greased Lightnin’. Rip It Up, Splish Splash, Proud Mary, Gimme Some Lovin’, Marry You and Tell Her About It complete the programme. The supplied playing times distinguish shorter selections such as Hit the Road Jack from the longer Shout.

The album can serve dancers looking for a recognisable song repertoire in a dedicated jive collection. Its classification does not supply exact tempo values for individual entries, so none are added. Every track, performer exception, version annotation and duration remains in the original sequence, with no claim that the recordings include filmed lessons or choreography.
