Ballroom Dancing Meets Popular Music – Samba

Product Description

Ballroom Dancing Meets Popular Music – Samba is a 2014 collection of 24 popular-song recordings grouped under samba. Most entries are credited to The Modern Ballroom Dance Band; No Scrubs is separately credited to The Paddy’s Pub Gang. The individual artist distinction remains visible in the full programme.

The selection opens with Get Up Offa That Thing (Release the Pressure), followed by María, Hey Mama and No Scrubs. Higher and Higher, Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours, I Wish and Superstition add soul and popular-song titles. Later choices include Shake Your Bon-Bon, Hips Don’t Lie, Yerbatero, Gasolina and Copacabana.

The final part of the album continues with Sir Duke, When I Get You Alone, Conga, Life Is a Highway and I Want You Back, before Rhythm Is Gonna Get You, I Can’t Get Next to You, Mama Do the Hump, Hard to Handle and Quimbara. This varied repertoire gives a samba-focused music library several recognisable song choices rather than one performer’s original-song catalogue.

Individual playing times are supplied, ranging from the shorter Signed, Sealed, Delivered recording to the extended opening selection. No per-track tempo figures or competition specifications are provided, so the samba album classification is retained without adding them. Every title, credited performer and duration remains in the original 24-entry order.
