American Style Silver Ballroom – Peabody is a comprehensive syllabus program presented and narrated by Esther Don, a Fellow of the I.S.T.D. in Ballroom, Latin American, and American Style. Designed for Silver (Advanced I) dancers, the program provides a structured way to study Peabody at home.
Esther Don approaches ballroom dancing from both a social and competitive perspective. She describes social ballroom dancing as a form of “hugging” to music, while competitive dancing develops that same concept into a refined athletic art combining proficiency, skill, and dexterity.
For this Silver program, former syllabus figures were carefully studied and selected according to their popularity. The chosen figures emphasize sound dance technique while allowing latitude for individual expression, giving dancers a strong technical framework without sacrificing personal style.
With approximately 60 minutes of instruction, this program is a valuable resource for dancers developing their American Style Silver Peabody repertoire and technique.
