Product Description

Watermelon Man by Mongo Santamaria and two Matt Bianco recordings make the Cha Cha section a particular point of interest on The Latin Masters. Buddy Love and Can’t Stop This Feeling appear around Dig It by Disco Circus, giving that four-track group several different performers to choose from.

Four Sambas precede it, with Batuca Gum, Move Baby Move, Mambo Tropical and Ritmo de Bom Bom establishing the opening dance category. The Rumba section then brings together Engelbert Humperdinck’s Stardust, Samantha Sang’s Emotion, Going in with My Eyes Open by David Soul and Without the Love by China Crisis. This shift from the earlier selections to familiar song titles offers variety for dancers working through more than one Latin dance.

Champagne’s Vamos Amigos is the Paso Doble entry. Bobby Day and Rocky Sharpe then alternate through the four closing Jives, including Rockin’ Robin and Fools Fall in Love. The seventeen-track collection is compact enough to browse easily while still covering Samba, Cha Cha, Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive. Its full listing retains the individual performers and the original tempo figures, allowing customers to select by dance and recording rather than relying on the album title alone.
