American Smooth Syllabus – Bronze Viennese Waltz is a structured instructional program featuring Jim & Jenell Maranto, former two-time U.S. Open Professional American Smooth Champions.
Designed for beginning to intermediate dancers, this syllabus covers the primary figures and essential elements of American Style Smooth Viennese Waltz. The program provides an organized progression through the steps and techniques needed to develop a solid foundation before moving to higher skill levels.
The instruction begins with fundamental Balance Steps in forward, backward, and side-to-side directions, followed by Fifth Position Breaks and Underarm Turn variations. Dancers then progress through important figures including the Reverse Turn, Closed Twinkle, Cross Body Lead, Hand to Hand, Progressive Changes, Right Turn, and Change of Place & Bow.
Demonstrations are also included, helping dancers see how the figures and movements come together in Viennese Waltz. With approximately 80 minutes of instruction, this program is a valuable resource for dancers and teachers following a recognized Bronze American Smooth syllabus.
