American Style Rhythm – Cha Cha Gold Variations is an instructional dance video featuring Chris Morris, presenting ten Gold-level Cha Cha combinations for dancers who already have a working knowledge of American Rhythm fundamentals.
The programme introduces a varied selection of turning actions, flicks, checks, rondés, grapevines, leg wraps, and syncopated movements. The opening combination connects a Forward Spot Turn with a Back Flick and Continuous Grapevine, while other variations explore changes of direction, partner separation, and transitions between individual and partnered actions.
Several combinations focus on contrasting movement qualities. Argentine Flick & Break to Rondé & Check combines sharp accents with circular leg action, while Rope Spin to Lady’s Forward Check & Rondé develops a different approach to partnered turning. The final variations introduce a syncopated spin and a back tunnel sequence.
Produced in 1993, this approximately 58-minute programme provides additional choreography material for advanced American Rhythm Cha Cha students, dance teachers, and competitors. Its ten individual combinations can be studied separately and incorporated into longer routines where appropriate.
