Star Requests begins with paired Quickstep, Waltz and Foxtrot-coded selections, followed by Jealousy for Tango. Its later programme moves through Cha Cha and Samba codes before reaching two Rumbas and a closing Jive. This compact structure offers a small number of choices across several dance categories.
Stage and screen repertoire gives the collection much of its character. Tap Your Troubles Away, When You Wish Upon A Star and All I Ask of You sit alongside Tea for Two and Wake Up Little Susie. The Phantom of the Opera annotation identifies the context of All I Ask of You. With two selections in several categories and single Tango and Jive entries, the album offers a compact way to move between Standard and Latin repertoire.
