Natural Dancing Tango is an instructional program featuring former World Professional Ballroom Champions Christopher Hawkins & Hazel Newberry, designed for competitive dancers from beginners through medium-advanced levels.
Running approximately 50 minutes, the program develops Tango through its character, stance, musicality, technique, common problems, and floorcraft. Chris and Hazel present both a Basic Group and an Advanced Group, breaking down the steps and explaining how the material can be danced with greater dynamic quality, artistry, natural movement, charisma, and enjoyment.
The Basic Group covers fundamental Tango actions including Walks, Progressive Link, Closed Promenade, Open Reverse Turn, Natural Twist Turn, and Rock Back. The Advanced Group progresses into more challenging material such as Fallaway Reverse and Slip Pivot, Double Reverse Spin, Over Spin, Contra Check, Step Flick, Outside Swivel, and Spanish Drag.
The program also addresses common problems and their solutions and includes a dedicated floorcraft lesson, making it a well-rounded Tango training resource for competitive dancers.
