Improve your Quickstep with Dance Solutions Quickstep, an instructional program presented by Timothy Howson & Joanne Bolton. Designed for dancers of all levels, this video focuses on the technical foundations that create better movement, stronger partnership, and greater confidence on the dance floor.
The course begins by exploring the core principles of Quickstep, including posture and poise, the five partner connections, leg action, foot and ankle technique, and musical interpretation. These essential concepts form the basis for efficient movement and are explained clearly before being applied to individual figures.
Building on these fundamentals, Timothy and Joanne demonstrate a wide range of Quickstep figures and variations, including Natural Turn, Tipsy to the Right, Curved Feather, Outside Swivel, Bounce Fallaway, In and Out Run, Turning Lock, Pendulum Swings, Scatter Chasse, and several advanced promenade actions. Each figure is broken down with practical explanations to help dancers understand not only the steps but also the technique required to dance them smoothly and accurately.
Although the section on posture appears throughout the Dance Solutions series, it is presented differently in each video, allowing every title to be studied independently while also complementing the complete collection.
