Product Description
Believe In Basics brings Alan and Donna Shingler’s Standard dancing into a programme built around five routines: Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz and Quickstep. The teaching section combines dancing to music with explanations of figure names and timing, followed by a mini-lecture. For students at Bronze level, this connects the appearance of a routine with the terminology and counts used when learning it.
The video then moves into a full show recorded live in Japan. Alan and Donna perform for an audience with full lighting and costume changes, providing a different setting in which to observe their dancing. The combination of explanation and performance makes the recording useful for beginning and intermediate dancers who want to study basic choreography and see it presented as a show. All five dances and the documented teaching and performance elements are listed below.
The explanations of figure names and timing make the teaching section particularly useful when a student can recognise a movement visually but still needs to connect it with dance terminology. Each of the five named Standard routines supplies a defined subject for that study. The live Japan show has a separate viewing purpose: it presents Alan and Donna’s dancing for an audience, with a stage setting and costume changes. Keeping the teaching elements and the show together makes the scope clear without suggesting that the performance section supplies extra lessons. The complete recording is approximately 45 minutes long and is listed at Bronze, beginning-to-intermediate level.
